A local Norfolk school asked me to work with them to create a ceramic wall mural commemorating the school’s 200 year anniversary. The project has been great fun and an exciting journey.
From my initial sketched out ideas, we chose a circular ‘mandala’ style design, which would include a central tile panel (including the school’s name) surrounded by ceramic hands made and decorated by all of the children and adults currently attending the school (51 in total!).
The blue and yellow colour theme on the central panel comes from the school’s logo colours and the purple of the backing board reflects the school’s belonging to the Trinity Federation of Church Academies.
