Children are naturally creative, spontaneous and capable of making very interesting and exciting artworks. Given the chance to learn new skills and the opportunity to apply these, children are often surprised by and proud of what they can achieve. Below are a few examples of primary school children’s artwork created through projects I have planned and taught. I love what they came up with!
Year 1 children worked together to create these Joan Miro inspired collages (above).
Year 1 and 2 children printed their own Indian pattern designs (above).
Year 3 children created their own artworks based on the shapes, colours and patterns of Lego pieces (above).
Year 4 recreated the Viking ‘Battle of Stamford Bridge’. This was an exercise in children improving their own work and the results were really worth the children’s efforts (above).
